The presentation of the Shamrock to the Lord Mayor of the city took place on Saturday (March 8th) in the Lord Mayor's Parlour, Council House.This is the traditional event which begins the St Patrick's Day events in the city and this year is the Ninth Annual Celebration.

Three members of the local GAA football team based at the Holy Trinity School in Aspley Nottingham took part in the ceremony.

This vase was presented by the late Ronan Dirrane to the city of Nottingham, on behalf of Nottingham's Irish Community to mark Nottingham's Inaugural St Patrick's Day Festival in 2000.
