March 11th and 12th  – "Essence of Ireland": Dance show at Palace Theatre, Mansfield (01623 633133). Evening shows at 7.30pm; matinee on Saturday at 2.30pm.

March 12th  – Deirdre O'Byrne Storytelling at Sherwood library, 10.30 - 11.30am. Tales of Fiónn and the Fiánna. Free family event. Make a Patrick's Day card and colour pictures.

March 15th – The Dubliners at the Theatre Royal.

March 16th – Deirdre O'Byrne at Angel Row library, 2-3pm. "Springtime in Irish Poetry": Reading and discussion of seasonal poems from well-known and newer Irish writers. Free.

March 16th – 'Seven Little Sisters' are putting on a St. Patrick's Day event in conjunction with 'Kelly's Heroes' and 'Wholesome Fish' at The Rescue Rooms on Goldsmith Street in Nottingham. Doors open at 8pm and tickets are £6.00 in advance, and £8.00 on the door.

March 16th – 'Forty Shades of Green': Irish Arts Exhibition presented by Brian and Mary Evans at the Council House and the launch of the Irish Festival by Seamus McGarry in the presence of the Sheriff of Nottingham. 7.30-9.30pm Free - download invitation. Exhibition continues on St Patrick's Day, 9am - 5pm.

March 16th to 19th – Events at the Irish Centre, Wilford Street

  • 16th: Ballyhoo - 8pm
  • 17th: Durty Linen + Disco. Food all day.
  • 18th: Frank Dempsey - 8pm
  • 19th: Roisin Murphy - 8pm

March 17th – St Patrick's Day Celebrations (Download poster and brochure )

  • 10am: Mass of St. Patrick at Our Lady and St.Patrick’s Church, The Meadows. Seán O’ Riada Liturgy sung by Annemarie Newell.
  • 12.00-12.45pm: Parade down Mansfield Rd to Market Square led by Grand Marshall Anne McCleary from Co. Offaly.
  • 1.15-4.30pm: Afternoon concert ~ John Mc Nicholl, traditional music from 'Comhaltas', and local schools of dancing.
  • From 10am: 'Irish Shop' in the Market Square. Buy shamrock, badges, hats, etc. to support the costs of the parade.

March 17th – Irish language class for complete beginners, 4-5pm at the Irish Centre.

March 17th – "Round Ireland with a Fridge" will be shown at 10.30am, 1.30pm, 5.15pm & 7.45pm at the Broadway Cinema. There’ll be Irish food & music on the menu in the cafe-bar too!

March 17th – Pelican Pub, Bilborough: Irish music throughout the day + free Irish Supper. Late bar.

March 17th – Greyfriars, Gordon Road: Irish breakfast (9.00-10.45am); Live music throughout the day; Ballyhoo band at 10am + Irish Dancing from Glendarragh Academy.

March 17th – Irish Songs & Stories with Billy Teare and Kathleen O'Sullivan at the Royal Centre. £6, 7.15pm.

March 17thHannah James & Sam Sweeney: traditional music at the Playhouse 8pm - Tickets: £8 in advance, £10 on the door.

March 17thLord of the Dance in 3D at the Showcase: 2:00pm4:30pm7:30pm.

March 18th – Nottingham Irish Golf Society's St Patrick's Day Golf Tournament at Ruddington Grange Golf Club. Tee off 10.30.

March 26th – "The Book of Kells" will be shown at the Broadway Cinema.

March 26thDaniel O'Donnell at the Royal Centre.
